Beacon Rail was established in 2008 and is the most recent addition to BTMU Capital Corporation's operating lease platform. Through its ownership by BTMU Capital Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. which is part of MUFG, Beacon Rail has the resources to meet the ever growing needs of its clients. Beacon Rail's affiliation with other operating lease companies provides Beacon Rail with institutional knowledge which gives it a distinct competitive advantage in a capital intensive industry.

Based in London, Beacon Rail also has a satellite origination office in Rotterdam.

Beacon Rail is the sister company to the container company, Beacon Intermodal Leasing, LLC, and is an affiliate of Engine Lease Finance, the world's leading independent spare engine financing and leasing company.
